The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
